Who We Are
Welcome to Locally Led Conservation in northeastern North Dakota
Work done well, with a personal touch. That’s our commitment! We are your local conservation office, dedicated to the stewardship of natural resources in this amazing agroecosystem. We form programs that fill needs for the producer and the natural resource. We help connect farmers to one another. We support farmers with technical resources made possible by our collaborative soil health team. And we connect opportunities to develop programs involving agriculture and conservation. Bring your ideas to us! Our favorite place is in the field, working with you!
As a political subdivision of the State, we represent Walsh County as the local voice in conservation issues, including proposed projects that may impact residents of the county. With work with residents, local officials, as well as state and federal entities to accomplish the best possible life for those living here now and in the future generations. We initiate programs to assist in the needs of the land and the people living on it. Regenerative agriculture is our future. We are living in a pivotal moment in conservation locally. We only have 40 years of topsoil left in this county.
What can you expect from us nowadays? You’ll see new initiatives in the next few years developed from direct feedback from growers. Please continue to explore our webpage in 2022 as it develops! Catch us on Facebook.
We are happy to get you started on conservation planning, with us, or connect you to another agency who can help you accomplish your goals. Conservation planning is a highlight of our district. Soon we will have a page highlighting our past and current projects!
Conservation implementation is an important step in the process and we are here to dig in a shovel and get it done! We can also help you purchase trees to grow in your soil type, plant trees in field windbreaks or on farmsteads, plant grasses using our new grass drill, plant projects along your riverbank or floodplain, and much more!
